The Sky Garden is a very nice place to see the fabulous skyline of London for free, but you have to book in advance (I suggest a week before your visit) and on line.

The garden is placed on the top of the famous Walkie Talkie building in central London 35th floor view.
Inside there is a nice (tiny) garden and there are a bar and a restaurant: drinks and refreshments reasonably priced.
Then there is an outdoor terrace that looks out onto the Shard and Thames.
